There are many steps taken to determine if you are PRK candidate. A good candidate must:
- Be free of soft contact lenses for at least 2 weeks and free of gas permeable contact lenses at least 3 - 6 months
- have had a complete eye exam with dilation within 3 months of
PRK
- be free of eye disease
- have a stable glasses and / or contact lens prescription for 6 months
- be at least 18 years of age
- not be pregnant or nursing
- not have a medical history of diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, ocular herpes, or the use of oral Prednisone.
