	There are many steps taken to determine if you are LASEK candidate. A good candidate must: be free of soft contact lenses for at least 2 weeks; free of gas permeable contact lenses for at least 3 - 6 months have a complete eye exam with dilation within 3 months of LASEK have a stable glass / contact lens prescription for 6 months be at least 18 years of age not be pregnant or nursing for 6 months not have a medical history of diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, ocular herpes, or use of oral Prednisone Other patients that will benefit from LASEK are those who have: thin corneal measurements had cataract surgery corneal scars had Radial Keratotomy (RK) This is only a partial list of patients who are candidates and contraindications to LASEK.
